Dry 3. 3 liter turbo engine (believed to also be an '88 euro) with upgraded k27 turbo and kokeln intercooler. Custom fabricated b&b exhaust with etched serial number. G50 5 speed tranny with high performance clutch. Just replaced both slave and master cylinders for the clutch. Factory slantnose rear fender oil cooler. Factory turbo suspension. Ruf magnesium rims, powder coated with machined outer lips (rims are near perfect with one front rim having a small area of clearcoat on the machined lip rubbed about a 1" spot, no gauging in metal... Easy fix, just never got around to). Tires in great shape. Brembo brakes with cross drilled rotors. Factory sport seats. Would cost $100k+ to duplicate. Windows out job with new seals all around. Power windows, power sunroof, power locks, power seats. I have spent close to $10k over the last few months making the car as close to perfect mechanically and cosmetically as possible. Around 85k miles on chassis. Don't know miles on engine but it's dry and very healthy. Sadly i need to sell. Own a slantnose turbo for less than half of what a factory turbo costs! During the rebuild common engine updates were performed with: fab-speed intercooler & cold air intake air cleaner, rarely8 headers & muffler, hf k27 turbo and tial-sport . 09 waste-gate. A digital air-fuel ratio gauge was added for engine monitoring. I retained all the oem parts and will go with the sale minus the waste-gate. The cdi was replaced with a more efficient msd. Cd player, 10 pack cd changer with new speakers my porsche 930 starts first turn of the key every-time & runs like new. Must see and drive to appreciate! Certificate of authenticity, numbers matching engine and transmission, pre sale inspection and compression check just performed by hennessey porsche. All original, unmolested, and non-restored condition, absolutely rust free example. The 930 was unveiled at the frankfurt auto show in 1973 as the carrera turbo. Employing the now iconic wide body and curvaceous body lines of the carrera rs 3. 0 but with distinctive new front and rear spoiler design. The carerra turbo became an instant sensation. The car was released in the north american market in 1976 as the 911 turbo and featured a 3. 0l turbocharged engine. In 1978 porsche upgraded the engine to a 3. 3l intercooled version producing 300hp and 304 lb-ft, endowing the turbo to reach a top speed of 165mph. The fastest us car at the time. Also introduced on the 3. 3l turbos was a new rear wing to clear the intercooler and a 4-piston braking system from the 917 racecar. The 3. 3l turbo was built for the us market for only the 1978 and 1979 model year before us emissions standards forced it from the market until its reintroduction in 1986. Significant air cooled porsche’s have seen a tremendous appreciation in value in recent years, due in part to their analog driving experience and genuine blue chip collectability. Early turbo models in original condition are virtually non existent, and will continue to lead the marque in value into the next decade. I have owned this particular example, the #729/1,200 built for the last 14 years. I purchased this car in 2001 from a dealer in seattle, wa who had just taken it on trade from a gentleman in oregon. The car was sold new in texas. A previous owner had the dp style front bumper and 17” porsche cup wheels installed. I have been fastidious in my ownership, making sure that the vehicle never yearned for anything. I have always gotten the vehicle serviced at porsche dealerships (if they had a technician familiar enough and skilled enough to understand the car) or independent specialty porsche shops. When i lived in seattle, chris powell from chris german (former 935 racing team mechanic) was my shop and since the car has been in georgia, it has been maintained by a top technician at hennessey porsche (this mechanic is now accountable for porsche’s classic car restoration efforts at porsche headquarters). It has always been garage kept, and never driven in poor weather conditions, as it has always been a 3rd car for me. The vehicle is presented in its original black (a1) paint, which shows exceptionally well. Other than some slight rock chipping as one would expect from the miles, the exterior is virtually blemish free. The black leather interior presents in great shape with no rips, tears, or bolster wear. Headliner is in fantastic shape, as are the carpets and door cards. This vehicle was also ordered with the rare limited slip differential and factory sport seats. Certificate of authenticity (coa) is available. The vehicle just completed a rigorous pre-sale inspection with compression check at hennessey porsche. They noted that the vehicle checked out remarkably well and showed no signs of rust. They were able to also verify that the engine and transmission numbers match the coa. I have been following the market of these cars for the last few years, and have not seen another 78-79 turbo in as nice original condition as this car come up for sale. Sunroof/Moonroof
