There are other minor cosmetic deficiencies (door panels, trunk shocks,dash covering, etc.) that i've tried to show in the photos and a few other issues that have developed from me not driving it regularly enough (slow leak on the right rear wheel/tire and the tachometer recently stopped working). It's reliable enough to be driven daily but, without ac, only driven on the occasional weekend outing in houston. It's a blast to drive and turns every head! As is common with 914's, the original engine and transmission were replaced sometime in its past. I have the original engine block and transmission and these are included in the sale along with the coa. The engine block installed in the car is an original 1970 914-6 block but the last digits of its stamped serial numbers are unreadable. The odometer reading has bee provided though i'm sure it's rolled over more than once. Tachometer✔ Air Conditioning

New rennline aluminum floorboard. Exterior: brand new paint with very nice shine. Not perfect with some blemishes but hard to tell. No dents, scratches or dings. Bumpers clean with no damage but do show signs of age but again, hard to tell especially from a few feet away. Wheels are original 914 fuchs, clean with shine, not perfect but look very nice and no major (hardly even minor) scratches or curb rashes. Engine: the most desirable 2. 0 liter of the 4 cylinder 914's. Starts right up and idles smooth with original fuel injection. Clutch depresses smooth and also with no noise or slipping. New valve adjustment, new pushrod tube seals, new valve cover gaskets, new vacuum lines, new fuel injector seals, new points, new ignition wires, new spark plugs, new intake boots, new intake manifold gaskets, new head temperature sensor, new air filter. Mechanical: all mechanical aspects of this car are very good for a 41 year old auto. Shifts smooth with new shift bushings on the 5 speed, side shifter gearbox. New front brakes that stop smooth, in a straight line. New battery in the more practical trunk mount position. Had some rust but all has been repaired/treated and now is a solid car. Overview: i tried my best to show all aspects of this car to help anyone interested in making a decision. Different people have differing opinions. Please inspect photos carefully as they are part of the description. It “is” a very nice car that looks extremely nice. Title in hand and smog exempt (at least in ca.). 2017 tags just arrived. The car is a blast to drive down a country road and has no overheating or running problems. It looks and feels, almost like a brand new car. Brand new tires also. Odometer shows 18930 but actual mileage is unknown.

There was no structural repairs needed, only minor issues which were corrected. Entire shell was media blasted, doors and hoods dipped. Factory steel flares welded on with body stiffening kit and sway bar mounts. Built as an m-471 optioned car with flared rocker panels and front valence. All hardware was blasted and replated in correct yellow chromate or replaced as needed. Interior restored with autos international products, instruments rebuilt by north hollywood. All new stock suspension, koni shocks, turbo tie rods, new brake lines, new master cylinder, restored calipers. Fresh 2. 7 liter engine, machine work by ollie's. New euro pistons and cylinders, bearings, chains, rebuilt heads, new clutch. Weber carbs rebuilt. Stock heat exchangers with sport muffler. Currently has k&n filters, but stock air cleaner is included. Rebuilt side shift transmission. The car has been restored in the original colors and trim per the factory coa. Restored over a two year period being finished in 2015.

One could leave it as is or restore to a certain degree. I do not want to make that decision with this car it is way too rare mess it up. The car is basically 100% except paint and original wheels are not installed. The original wheels come with car. The car has its books, tools, spare(unused) tire, jack and original footrest. The interior is original, no tears or cracks! Seats are extremely nice. I was very careful not mess with the car. No armorall or any other b. The car was kept in a dry garage in san diego. The car drives really, really nice! Pulls nicely, brakes straight and solid, turns nicely with no slop in steering wheel. Suspension is feels right and transmission works as it should. That is a bit vague but no issues with grinding. Runs at the proper temp, gauges work etc. The only driving issue is the idle is a bit low until warm. About 500 rpm cold, needs about 75 imo. 750 rpm warm is perfect. There are the faintest signs of surface rust in 2 or 3 spots. Again at this point, i have left alone and let the next owner make the decision. The car is too nice me for to drive.

The car hails from the california coast originally and then had stops in georgia and florida before we acquired this sexy two seater. It has an extensive file of records and receipts from the previous owner and in 1990 it was treated to a full restoration of the body, paint, interior and engine work. Since then it has logged about 30k miles and remains in great shape. The appearance package looks great along with the 15in steel wheels with newer tires and the 5spd manual transmission. All lights, and blinkers are functioning and work with ease. The engine carries a single weber carb with the 2. 0l engine. This is the one to buy and continue to tweak or enjoy. The totally rebuilt 1971 cc engine has a 71mm stroke crankshaft; new engine seals and gaskets; new pistons, rings & cylinders; new oil pressure sender; heads checked for cracking, surfaces fly-cut and lapped; valve guides and seats checked, valves lapped. Twin weber idf44 carburetors rebuilt with new kits & new idle mix screw seats; fully synchronized. New points, condenser, plug wires and spark plugs. Starter, alternator, and distributor rebuilt. New transaxle seals and clutch fork bushing, new shift linkage bushings at shifter and firewall. New cloth braided fuel hoses and new vapor recovery hoses. New cfr rotary fuel pump with new filters before and after the pump. Interior has new carpet and original style vinyl seat covers and on door panels. Door and window mechanisms were rebuilt. New foil-backed fatmat material installed inside doors, floors and firewall. New rubber seals throughout the car from 914rubber. Original porsche leather wrapped steering wheel. Vintage restored kenwood cassette stereo powers 4"x6" factory located main speakers, front tweeters and active subwoofer concealed in center console - sounds great! Heater is full functioning. Removable top fits prcisely on top and in rear trunk. New brake rotors, master cylinder and brake hoses. Rebuilt brake calipers and new brake pads. New wheel bearings seals. Steering rack cleaned, checked and lubricated. New front and rear anti-sway bar bushings. New drop link bushings. Rebuilt wiper motor and headlight assemblies. Gas tank cleaned, fuel sender refurbished and tested. Horns rebuilt and tested. Fog lamps rebuilt and tested. New 165x15 tires including spare. This car has its original vin and body serial numbers, the engine is from the 1974-76 model years. Car runs great, everything works and with only 300+ lightly driven miles since full restoration. Very fun to drive and with a show-car finish!
