The vehicle is very well equipped for 1978 with its full power package (steering, brakes, windows, door locks, driver's seat, antenna), AM/FM stereo, leather interior, cruise control, digital clock, rear window heater, and A/C. 12,500 1978 Mercury Cougar XR-7

I am the original owner this 1978 mercury cougar xr-7. Survivor less than 33,xxx original miles, 400 c. Everything is original including the paint, with the exception of battery, shocks, and tires. This car has never seen any snow or salt. I got caught in the rain with it a few times. When i bought the vehicle i sprayed the undercarriage with rust-oleum with less than 50 miles on the vehicle. I am the only one to have driven this vehicle. This car was never wrecked and been kept in a heated garage with no window so there is no fading due to uv rays. It has never gone thru a automatic car wash. Therefore there are no minute' scratches in the paint. Waxed only (hand rubbed) with simonize original. Even the rubber door seals are like new and still flexible. The oil has been changed every 2000 miles. The only fuel used in this vehicle has been amoco (now bp) ultimate 93 octane. It has never been smoked in. No leaks now or ever. I am convinced this is the best example of a 1978 cougar xr-7 in the country. The paint is dark brown metalic this is a solid car with no mechanical issues and guaranteed not to have a spec of rust anywhere. It does need tires and a muffler, the muffler is original and has a small hole in the rear where condensation lies, and the tires are about 26 years old. I am only sellng because i have to many vehicles and decided to sell a few. Yes, i am getting old! Everything has been documented. I have all documents and the shop manuals. Deal with the original owner not some classic auto dealer who marks it up by thousands. Imagine a all steel, full frame, virtually brand new car for $12,500. This car has zero issues other than the muffler and tires as specified. Ask for additional photos. If no answer leave message.

I even have the original air filter and spark plugs..... NEW: tires, battery, muffler, brakes, fuel pump, carb kit, air filter and spark plugs.... I have the Marti Report and only 107 were built in this color combo... I drove the car 3,000 miles last summer and it drives just like a new car and everything works, a/c, clock, cruise, ect...... Was $6900 Air Conditioning
