It has a very small oil leak coming out from the engine oil pan but could be fix easily. Floors absolutely clean of rust ! I do new rubber kit put in. Chrome is in really good condition. I wanted to cast a race look of the famous "d" type jaguar race car on this xke, rather than a stock appearance, while keeping the engine stock. Here is what was done, bumpers were removed, the originals have been re chromed and are included in this sale, side stainless steel exhaust and ss header replaced the stock rear exhaust, the stock is included in sale, front directional lights are now under the glass of the head light like the "d" type, wire wheels have been replaced with the"d" type dunlap race wheels, with tri bar knock offs (5), a cost of $3,500. Removal of the front grille motif bar, also included in sale. Removal of the heater box, since i only drove this xke in warm weather, radio and radio console ( it is newly upholstered), also have been merely removed, several period radios are included in sale. Here are a few of the things that have been restored or replace with new parts, all brake calipers have been s. Lined, provided by white post restoration, all interior in replaced by original quality provided by gw bartlett co., tires are michelin p 215/60r15, new wind shield glass, paint is dupont chroma system g9900s, super jet black, gauges rebuilt by nisonger instruments there are many boxes of parts, california car cover, work shop and drivers manuals, that are included, oil and filter service was just done last month. * there is a fine crack 1" in the paint about the wheel well on the drivers rear side, and another 1/2 fine crack on the bonnet near the firewall. The changes made in the body appearance to give this xke a "d" type race look was undertaken, so that it could be put back to the original look with very little effort and with no body modifications needed. Plus, two late model seats were also added. I am not sure about the car's history, but the motor has jaguar 5-2-64, stamped in raised letters on the motor's block. Present condition: there are no scratches no dents or rust, on the paint chrome, or the wire wheels... Drives even greater! I believe that i am the third owner, the mileage was 27,545 when i bought the car... That was almost 5 years ago. It has 27, 561 miles now. The car has been kept inside, in a climate controlled environment additional work has been done this year: (all original factory parts were used to replace older parts). From january to march of 2016 the following new parts were replaced: new water pump harmonic balance controller, seats and carpet were removed to repair small rust places in the rear, floor-pan. Both rear stabilizing bars were replaced, new battery the 3-su carburetors were tuned! All work was done by mechanics that work on and restore british cars. Lubrication and all fluids have been topped up. (5) tires, look new but they have been on the car a long time. If there are any other conditions that need attention, i am not aware of them.

In retains it's original 4. 2 liter engine, which was a big improvement over the earlier 3. 8 liter engines found in the series i cars. Primarily due to the improved cooling and increased power. Basically at that time is was just a excellent used car. It was stripped to bare metal and restored to its original glory in its stunning original color combination of british racing green over tan interior. Still regarded by many collectors as the best color combinations for the e-types. It was a very straight original survivor having never been damaged and in need of only minor metal repairs. This is a well documented and photographed restoration. Cosmetically this car is breathtaking to see. One of the finest i have seen for a driven example. The fit lines are excellent and all within the same tolerances from new. All five wire wheels were sent out to be reconditioned and re-chromed. All chrome inside and out was removed and re-plated to show quality and all mechanical components rebuilt to function like new. It received a complete new interior from bas ltd jaguar trim specialist which still looks new. It illustrates the level of luxury not found in most sports cars of this era. The floor carpets still have the plastic on them. Included with the car is the heritage certificate shown in the last photo verifying the cars history, numbers & original color. It is a numbers matching car that still retains the look and reliability of a car just out of restoration. It has been driven only a few thousand miles since it was restored in 2002-04. It has won several trophies in local car shows. The interior still looks new with no noticeable signs of wear. The paint still shines bright and has held up very well. This speaks to the overall quality of the restoration. Anyone can make a car look perfect for a few months. Only a high quality restoration still looks fresh 12 years later. I would always prefer a car with an older restoration that was completed slowly for a long time owner over a just finished car restored only to sell. The chrome all still looks new and shines bright like well plated chrome should. As was common years ago the underside was coated with a corrosion preventative black coating to protect it. The engine is a work of art. It was rebuilt by a well-respected jaguar shop and painted and polished to original finishes. It starts right up with clear clean exhaust. Oil pressure is excellent at any speed and long after warm up. The new clutch and rebuilt gear box make it a joy to drive. The new brake system stops the car firmly and straight from any speed. The top and boot look very nice with only slight signs of wear on the top that will not even show in the photos. The tires look new with full tread.
