This car was built to be driven with a balanced 302 ford engine and a c4 transmission. The ac is cold, the heater is hot and the driving fun is ensured by kenwood am/fm with kenwood multiple-cd in the trunk and a remote control for the driver’s enjoyment. Detailed information: mileage: less than 500; the picture shows 432 but i expect a few more miles on it before it sells. Engine: ford balanced 302 with rv cam producing over 300hp this very nicely detailed and very reliable engine with a 600cfm holly double pumper carburetor, electronic ignition and a manual fuel pump. Valvoline vr1 racing oil is used exclusively in this engine for maximum protection. Exhaust – ceramic coated cast headers with 2 ¼ exhaust tubing and flow master mufflers. Transmission: ford c4 with column shift and lighted shift indicator at bottom left side of dash. Front suspension: i-beam axel with de-arched spring suspension and disk brakes. Manual steering with the original, unrestored, ’40 ford de luxe steering wheel to provide a nostalgic anchor to the origin of this car. Rear suspension: ford ranger differential 3. 73:1 gears, parallel leaf springs, drum brakes. Brakes: disk brakes on the front wheels, drum rear with manual emergency brake; power brake system with dual master cylinder is located under-floor. Electrical system: 12 volts wiring kit and fuse block; has working turn signals, and emergency flashers. Battery is hidden in rear cargo area under the jump seat behind driver’s seat with emergency shut off under passenger’s seat. Electric windshield wipers. All windows are tinted. The stainless trim is excellent and the chrome bumpers help accent the trim of the car. The stock firewall was smoothed. Interior: grey vinyl seats front and vinyl jump seat bottoms in the back, vinyl door panels (two tone grey) and headliner is vinyl (grey). The entire passenger area including the doors is insulated and the carpet is grey radiator: full size walker radiator with 12v pusher fan provides trouble free cruising. Gas tank: stock 1940 tank with mechanical fuel pump on engine. the car starts, idles, accelerates, shifts smoothly, cruses down the road at highway speeds and stops as good as it looks. Very good cruiser dependable and a real eye catcher. The car has been painted many years ago but shows no signs of rust or flaking. Because it is not a fresh paint job it is considered to be driver quality. It has just been professionally wet sanded and buffed to a high shine very presentable but not perfect by any means. We have cleaned and done minor touch up of the under carriage. We put new brakes and master cylinder. EXTERIOR: all steel car, NO RUST see under carriage, subtle two tone painted pin striping, all bright work, chrome and emblems and in good shape, smooth firewall, new billet aluminum wheels, plenty of tread left on tires 165/80R15 front and rear 235/75R15, blue dot taillights. CHASSIS/ RUNNING GEAR: very nice no rust, small block Chevy V8, air conditioning, electric fuel pump, poly gas tank with sending unit, smooth shifting turbo 350 auto transmission, 9' ford posi-traction rear end, disk brakes up front drums in rear, dropped straight axle, power steering, mellow sounding duel exhaust, no leaks, smooth runner, plenty of power, great cruiser, main electrical kill switch under passenger side seat for theft deterrent. INTERIOR: nice black interior with red accents, no rips, holes, worn spots or issues, nice black headliner and carpet, genie shift and e-brake handle, full VDO gauge package with clock they all work, electric windows and trunk release, awesome sounding 4 speaker cd stereo system, fully re carpeted trunk with re located battery. This car is ready to go and will make someone a nice cruiser. Every thing on the car works. Air Conditioning✔ Aluminum Wheels

The standard ford inherited the grille of the 1939 model with blackout on each side of a heavy chrome center; heavier headlight surrounds serve as another major differentiator from the 1939. 1940 was the last year of the 1937 design and its smaller v8 engine, with a straight-six engine to be reintroduced the following year. Sealed-beam headlights were one of the few major advances for 1940, while a hydraulic top was new on the convertible. The current owner of this vehicle has owned it for just over 19 years and has maintained it meticulously. Some key upgrades and repairs include; a fully rebuilt engine in 2017 (h&h flathead), front disc brakes, tube shocks, panhard bar drop axle, posit springs, electric fan, newer wheels / tires, full flow oil system, new clutch, newer optima battery, newer carb, newer manifold, full exhaust, headers, adj.
