The thunderbird for ford was designed to be a sports car and after the first few years of people falling in love with the style and features it kind of morphed into a luxury brand for the ford motor company. The iconic '55-'57 thunderbirds were very impressive with its cutting edge style, dual tops and performance for the thrill seeker. Unfortunately the years went by and the name plate fell into some less desirable "square birds" and the dreadful 70-80's that should have killed the model. Ford sparked a movement with the debuting of the thunderbird in 2002 with the launch of a special edition and limited production of the car with many styling ques from first edition thunderbird, such as the iconic portholes for the hard top, both tops, and front and rear end looks. Finally for 2005, ford hung the anniversary badge on the car to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the thunderbird with unique badging and standard features of the heated seats, automatic climate control, audiophile stereo with 6cd in dash, and 17in 7-split spoke chrome wheels. This vehicle was further optioned with the factory hard top, select shift transmission and the soft top boot cover. With a msrp of $41,865 these cars were a bargain, but so many were sold for a premium over the list price as the demand was strong for them. Hedrick for her 45th anniversary present from her late husband and was driven on those perfect days and stored and cared for properly its entire life. The car is free from any damage, signs of abuse or neglect and has been serviced beyond what ford recommended. Every service being done by the ford dealer and comes with all books, the hard top, soft top boot cover, hard top stand, car cover, hard top cover, 4 keys, two remotes and the original msrp. At the front of that fuselage, a bright chrome grille hangs small driving lights below clear, combination headlamps and a teal-inlayed thunderbird emblem. Behind that emblem, a composite hood centers a traditional thunderbird scoop in front of tinted factory glass that sports a stylish chrome frame. At the top of that frame, a performance white hardtop latches down over a standard haartz soft top to perfectly mimic ford's original, 1955 dual-roof system. Below those roofs, chrome ventiports ride inside re-imagined fender lines that lead the eye through body-matched mirrors to rear mounted "thunderbird." 50th anniversary badging on both front fenders, engine when ford debuted the eleventh generation thunderbird it introduced a car that was faithful to the original concept in virtually every way.
