I have owned the car for roughly two years, and when i purchased it i had it shipped here from reno, nv. The time i had the car it was garage kept and did not see snow. The car is in excellent shape and has very little rust considering it was in a dry climate most of its life. I recently took it to nikolas motorsports where the entire engine was rebuilt, which cost roughly $7500. I have the receipts. The engine also has a weber 38/38. (engine has only 38 miles on it, the odometer reads 55,xxx). I was also told that the car has a tii block and a hotter cam, but cannot verify without cracking the head open. Parts (all engine work has a two year warranty by nikolas motorsports) in addition to engine rebuild, i also had them install a new driveshaft and install new suspension bushings throughout the car. I will throw in all of the original springs and tires. The bad: i tried to take pictures of all the bad with this car, although none of these issues are severe or major. - tears in both seats. - speedometer glass fell out, but i do have it, just never got around to putting it back in. - rear of headliner is tacked in (in pictures). - hood has a weird cracking rust spot, which was por15'd by previous owner. Rust and cracking has stopped, just an eye sore. - misc. Chips and dings on body (i drove it daily, as did the previous owner in reno... I have tried to list everything about the car as thoroughly as possible along with many pictures, but would be glad to take any additional pictures upon request. Bluetooth

The “roundie” version is always sought out by any collector as the unique real tail lights were only offered for a few years. This stunning atlantic blue car was delivered to brewster bassett on 1-3-72 out of boulder import motors in boulder colorado where it was enjoyed for many years. Then the car was sold to a gentleman out of florida where numerous records and receipts document his service and repairs as he enjoyed the car. The paper trail lands in michigan where the previous owner had owned the car for many years. The car has been extremely well cared for a 40+ yr old car and still remains in relative stock appearance and features. The engine was replaced in 1985 by a ’75 bmw 2002 engine with weber 32/36 carbs and stahl headers. The bbs 6x13 wheels were also added at this time along with a few upgrades to stereo and the koni suspension. All of these are period correct and does not take away from this very stylish and nicely kept car. The car fires up with ease, goes thru all 4 gears with ease and gets up to highway speeds with ease. Vdo gauges with oil pressure, temperature and voltage seem to be operating properly and the blaupunkt stereo with amplifier is installed. The vehicle is a timeless car that has a very strong reputation and is becoming very difficult to find without major deficiencies. These are a current classic and will continue to rise in price and demand as the year progress. Vehicle comes with original manuals, plenty of service receipts and parts receipts, maintenance logs and car cover.

It was first sold in california and moved to colorado in the late 80's. It was purchased by a bmw enthusiast in 2009 that took care of the mechanical issues after sitting for several years in storage. I purchased it in 2012 and spent the last few years bringing it back to its original condition. It underwent extensive rust repairs and a glass out respray including the trunk and door jams. The engine bay was left the original paint since it was in excellent shape and i wanted to retain that originality. It is a matching numbers car and currently registered in california. Steel wheels new tires new battery original manual original tool kit roll and tools restored neue klasse steering wheel wrapped in leather only 170 miles since completed many other new parts with receipts! (detailed list at the bottom of the page) florida (green) is a rare color and very hard to find one for sale in this amazing condition. This is a true classic that has been refreshed/restored with careful attention to keeping it as original as possible. The engine bay is all original and unmolested! No wiring has been cut or spliced into. It even has much of the original wrapping on the wires. No electrical issues and no surprises. This is a rare opportunity to find a unmolested, clean and well cared for 1969 florida 1600-2. A few things to note - the ca black plates shown in the photo's are for show and not the original plates or registered. There is one small crack in the lower dashboard but a un-cracked replacement dashboard will be included in the sale. Mileage is unknown since the cluster was restored but i suspect it has low miles given the cleanliness of the engine bay. Lastly, the shifter bushings were replaced and now second gear feels tight.
