The austin healey bn1 or 100 was named for its ability to reach 100 mph. In fact, the first prototype was immediately tested in belgium and reached a top speed of 111 mph with the windshield folded in its folded position. In a 27-month production from may 1952 through august 1955 was 10010. Traveling just over 7,000 miles since, this remarkable machine is still in fantastic condition. The restoration that was performed was top-notch with nothing being overlooked. This wonderful bn1 is show quality that starts, runs and operates as flawless as it looks. This healey is now part of a estate that is being liquidated and should go to a enthusiast. It is ready to be enjoyed and driven immediately.

It is an early big healey that has not yet been restored but is not a total basket case pulled out of a field. This is a complete car, unrestored and not full of terminal rust. It was painted once in the early 60’s. It appears the color was changed from black with red coves to the current orange/white color combination (why would someone change to those colors??). The current owner bought the car in 1964. It started out in arizona, was purchased by the current owner’s brother in the early 60’s and then she bought it in 1964 from him. It was driven very sparingly for a couple years until parked in a garage in 1966. It sat there until a few months ago when it was brought to layland motors to get road-worthy in order to sell it.

These 100-6’s were only built from 1956 through 1959, they were the replacement for the 100 and then followed by the 3000. Together, they were known as the big healeys. First of all, the car comes out of long term ownership with the current owner purchasing it in 1967. The car was used as a daily driver for several years while working at the university of michigan. After several years the owner decided to have the car restored to its glory and in 1981 made the voyage to lakeland, fl and tsikuris classics where it underwent a frame off restoration. Paul tsikuris was a leader in healeys at the time, so the car was done very well. Included with the sale are not only every receipt for the last fifty years, but also receipts for the restoration. This also includes hand written correspondents between the seller and paul tsikuris along with pictures. This tremendous auto is finished in healey blue over blue interior. It has a nice fitting soft-top, tonneau and side curtains. This is one of the easiest starting healeys i have personally had the pleasure of offering. The car runs and drives excellent as well with good brakes and tires. However, keep in mind that although the paint has held up tremendously well, it is nearly a 40 year old restoration with some shrinking in the paint. This car comes ready to be enjoyed with all documentation included.

The last 2 years the car has begun its process for complete restoration. The car has a very healthy body with all original body pieces except trunk floor panel and both side rocker panels which have been replaced during the process of restoration. The car's body has been sand blasted after it has been primed and has been professionally painted and polished. The car's engine and transmission have been restored by an engine specialist. The engine has standard piston size and standard main bearing size which have been replaced and were tried to keep as original as possible. I do not have a certificate for this car, i don't know if this is a matching number engine, see photo for engine tag. The engine head has been rebuilt. All seals and gaskets have been replaced, including the water pump, etc. As for the transmission, it had all its gaskets and seals replaced. The car’s mechanical has been completely rebuilt: all bushings, seals, gaskets, complete new brake system, etc. The car has a new fuel tank, new fuel pump, new wiring, new windshield, new chrome wire wheels and tires, completely new interior and new top vinyl. The side cartons are in used condition and needs restoration which are included in the trunk (see photos). Also included are new seat belts which need to be installed. All parts that were purchased new for this car are from moss motors. The car's restoration was completed about 2 months ago. The car is now in running and driving condition. The car is being sold "as is" without any guarantee or warranty.
