Mg a division of the british motor corporation produced just over 225,000 midgets from 1961 through 1980. The earliest versions or the mk i was essentially a slightly more expensive version of the austin healey sprite using a lot of the same components including engines all the way through the end of production. Over the years the engines grew from the 948cc with the mk i and ended up with the 1500 cc out of the triumph spitfire with the mk iv's. These engines produced a whopping 65 hp, they were capable of 100 mph speeds. These cars became iconic over time in the vintage race scenes, especially in the uk. The mg midget challenge is a series dedicated to the midget. The 1976 midget offered here is a very solid example. The paint shows some patina, but yet represents well. The interior appears to have newly reupholstered seats and a new vinyl top. The midget comes with a spare tire and a upgraded sound system with a sony cd player and explod speakers. The midget also has a tonneau cover and luggage rack. It rides on 13 inch tires that are mounted to factory steel wheels with beauty rings. Production of the mgb began in october 1962 just after the production of the mga had ceased. Though often referred to as a roadster, the mgb had roll up windows, outside door handles and vent wings. A mark ii version was added in 1967, and the car stayed in production until 1980, becoming one of the most successful british sports cars of all time, with a total of over 300,000 cars being exported to the u. The white paint shows well and has a high shine to it. The black vinyl interior is in immaculate shape. The b received a brand new top as well as brand new carpet, including the trunk area. The owner took pride in owning this car and pampered it at all times. The mg comes with various receipts that reflect this. The distributor, coil and lucas coil box were removed and given a petronix flame thrower negative ground system with new plugs and wires. The car has always received its normal maintenance such as oil changes and brake work. The car was also given a brand new wiring system. The mgb comes with a full tonneau cover, car cover and spare tire.
