The MG A design dates back to 1951, when head designer Syd Enever created a body for the Le Mans race car. After many re-designs due to some problem areas like seating position and suspension the A was built and went in to civilian production. It was a body on frame design that used a independent coil springs with wishbone front suspension and a rigid rear axle and a rack and pinion steering. The drivetrain was a take-away from the earlier saloon and was a 1489 cc engine that originally only put out 68 HP but was later upgraded to a staggering 72HP. Total production numbers for the seven year run was almost 60,000 units. The top is in good condition and so are the seats. The red paint shows wear as does some of the other cosmetics.

Production of the mgb began in october 1962 just after the production of the mga had ceased. Though often referred to as a roadster, the mgb had roll up windows, outside door handles and vent wings. A mark ii version was added in 1967, and the car stayed in production until 1980, becoming one of the most successful british sports cars of all time, with a total of over 300,000 cars being exported to the u. It is finished in damask red paint and shows well. It shows some signs of age but remains very solid. This car was well cared for and loved for many years. It just came to us out of a collection and when the owner purchased it years ago he had the car shipped to the mg guru, john twist, and had the car gone through. Over 1,000 dollars were spent making sure this british beauty was ready for the open road. The engine fires right up and the car can be driven anywhere with confidence. Under the hood is in immaculate condition and shows well. The 1. 8l 4 cylinder engine is mated to a manual transmission with overdrive. The black convertible top was replaced 10 years ago and still looks brand new. Spring is here and summer is not too far behind, making this the perfect time of year to get behind the wheel of this mgb.

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this stunning, 1958 MGA Roadster. When introduced, the “A” charted a new direction for MG. The cars were lower with sleek lines, more roomy interior, low seating position and more powerful. Most importantly was the departure of the body-on-frame design for a uni-body construction. The car was stiffer, much more ridged, and demonstrated vastly improved handling capabilities. The A transcended MG to the sports car world and developed a rich racing history. To this day, the MGA is considered the best overall MG produced. The car offered here was acquired by its current owner as an original car from a long term storage situation. Realizing its potential, the car was immediately brought to MG Legend, John Twist, of University Motors LTD, of Grand Rapids, MI, for evaluation and restoration. The end result was stunning and the car has been properly kept, used and stored in a climate controlled environment. The car is finished in Damask Red over Tan interior. The car features coordinating tan convertible canvas top, chrome wire wheels, signature banjo style steering wheel, Jaeger gauges, excellent chrome bumpers and grille. The car is powered by its 1500cc 4 cylinder engine fed by dual carbs, 4-speed manual transmission and rear wheel power. Much attention to detail was exercised during the restoration process using only original and where needed NOS parts. Mechanically, this MGA is a spirited driver exemplifying an outstanding British open air motoring experience. The MGA is a car that continues to be globally sought after and values keep on a steady rise. When it comes to investing in cars, quality matters. This MGA will not disappoint.

Dealerid=471615options:description:the t series of the mg was built from 1936 through 1955. The ta, tb, tc, td and tf and in 1955 was replaced by the mga. The td, which was built from 1950 though 1953 combined the tc’s drivetrain and the saloon suspension with coil springs. In 1950 the td mkii competition models was introduced, produced alongside the standard car, with a more highly tuned engine using 8. 1:1 compression giving it almost 57 hp. It featured twin fuel pumps and a higher ratio rear axle. Nearly 30,000 td’s were produced with only 1700 mkii variants. And of all of them almost 23,500 made there way to the united states. This particular automobile has quite a history. It has been owned by the current consignor since 1960 with title to match. This car has full top with side curtains and tonneau. Another interesting fact is that the motor was replaced using sears and roebuck to purchase the engine through mg. The original receipt is present and comes with the car.
